    President and Chief Executive Officer

    Mr. Gupta has accepted the role of President and CEO effective February 1, 2017.  He has been with Bankers from commencement in July 2004 and has held several key roles with the Company including Vice-President, Production & Operations and General Manager & Vice-President, Albania. He brings over 20 years of oil and gas experience to the Bankers Executive team including specific work on the Patos-Marinza field in Albania over the past 9 years.  He was also a key member of the previous operator, Anglo-Albanian Petroleum Ltd., in the capacity of Technical Director and Production Manager. Prior to Bankers he held senior positions with several petroleum companies where he was integral to the development of heavy oil properties in international countries as well as in Canada. Prior to this he held the position of Senior Staff Exploitation Engineer with Husky Energy Inc. and Senior Production Engineer with Renaissance Energy Ltd. and Pinnacle Resources Ltd. He started his career with Chevron Canada Resources Ltd.

    Mr. Gupta's technical expertise includes conventional oil, heavy-oil, water flood management, and property reserve evaluations. He is a graduate of the University of Calgary and holds a Master of Science degree in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering. He is also a Professional Engineer in the Province of Alberta.

    Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary

    Mr. Urch joined Bankers Petroleum Ltd. in February 2008 and is currently Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He has over 35 years of oil and gas industry experience. Mr. Urch has been a Director for both listed (TSXV) and private companies. and has provided financial management services for a variety of companies. From September 2000 until January 2008, he was Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Rally Energy Corp. He is a Certified Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D). Mr. Urch graduated from the University of Calgary with a Commerce degree. 

  • Leonidha (Loni) Cobo

    VP, General Country Affairs & Deputy General Director

    Mr. Cobo, also known as Loni, was appointed VP, General Country Affairs & Deputy General Director in January 2017. Prior to this role, he was Vice-President and General Director of Bankers Petroleum Albania Ltd at Bankers Petroleum Ltd since 2011.

    Mr. Cobo is a well-rounded oil and gas executive with over 25 years of solid experience managing heavy oil operations. Currently, in the capacity of Vice President & General Director, Mr. Cobo is responsible for longer-term strategy, investment, alliances/partnerships and connection to major stakeholders at Bankers Petroleum Albania.

    His previous roles include Production & Operations Director of BPAL from March 2006 to June 2009, Deputy Technical Director of BPAL from June 2004 to February 2006, Deputy Director of Albpetrol from Mar 2004 to May 2004, Senior Reservoir Engineer, Anglo-Albanian Petroleum from 1998 to 2004 and Geophysicist Engineer at National Oil and Gas Institute of Albania from 1994 to 1998.

    Mr. Cobo holds a Doctorate and Master degrees in Geosciences, University Polytechnic of Tirana, Albania.

  • Craig Nardone

    Vice-President, Exploration & Development

    Mr. Nardone is a professional geologist with more than 25 years experience in the exploration and development of oil and gas properties domestically and internationally with a strong focus on heavy oil. Before joining Bankers in 2007 he held senior staff technical and asset manager positions with Nexen Inc., developing several western Canada heavy-oil properties using both primary and enhanced recovery methods. Previous professional positions include consulting geologist for Shell on a multi-billion barrel primary and thermal heavy oilfield development project in the Middle East in addition to increasing production and asset values at Barrington Petroleum, Rife Resources and Amoco. He has a Masters Degree in geology and is a member of the CSPG, AAPG and APEGA.
